Heather has been working as a birth & postpartum doula for 10 years and has attended over 100 births. She found her passion and calling within the birthing community in Asheville, NC where she lived before heading back home to settle down in the Triangle. She lives in Saxapahaw with her partner, Miles & son, Atlas. They have a small homestead with pigs, goats, chickens, ducks, a turkey, a turtle, some barn cats, & a dog. They enjoy spending time outdoors together, going camping, & music (Miles plays in local band, Big Fat Gap). Aside from birth work, Heather loves working in her gardens and is a community herbalist. She grows all of the herbs for custom teas & tinctures to support pregnancy & postpartum (& everything else too!). She is in a lactation program currently & will sit for the IBCLC exam in 2022. It is her hope that women & families feel empowered & supported during pregnancy & birth & postpartum. She loves to nurture families during this sacred time. One day she hopes to foster a safe space for families in the community to gather & support one another.
